Steve Wilmarth, MD

Steve was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley followed by Stanford University School of Medicine. He recently retired after 45-years as an eye surgeon in the Greater Sacramento area specializing in laser vision correction and cataract surgery. Dr. Wilmarth taught and performed humanitarian eye surgery in the Philippines, China, Japan, South Africa and Kenya.

Dr. Wilmarth is highly motivated to bring biochar to the commercial marketplace. “Imagine! We can save 30 to 50% in water usage while improving the quality of plant life. This translates into huge saving for the user and a more stable water supply. Our story is only just beginning.”

Dr. Wilmarth is the proud father of two daughters. When he’s not working, you will find him on the golf course, ski slopes or hiking mountain trails. 

Dean Rider MD

Dean Rider, MD

Dean was born in Chicago but raised in Marin County California. He is a graduate of the Hass School of business at University of California, Berkeley. While at the University he played all 4 years Varsity Golf earning his Varsity letter as a freshman. Following  his education at the University of California he enrolled at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Following his graduation, he completed his post medical school training at the University with a Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Dr Rider upon completion of his medical training entered private practice and still maintains an active clinic. 

Dr. Rider has been involved in various committees at his golf clubs. His involvement on the greens committee brought to his attention the need for water conservation for golf courses. The identification of a superior biochar product that will save 30 to 50% of water needs is now available. The goal of 21 st Century Premier Biochar is to make every golf course aware of this biochar and its benefits to the golf clubs and the environment.
